Dr. Stephanie Thorson-Olesen is a Professor with more than a decade of experience as a faculty member, researcher, counselor educator, and academic leader. She previously served as Director of Doctoral Research and has overseen more than 150 thesis and dissertation projects. She has also served as a journal editor and editorial board member and has consulted with the United Nations on using research to inform mental health policy. Her scholarship focuses on counselor education, counselor wellness, marginalized identities, rural mental health, and emerging approaches to counseling. She currently serves as Chair of the Counselor Education Qualitative Interest Network (CEQUIN) and is passionate about advancing rigorous, innovative, and inclusive qualitative research.
